St. Katharine Drexel Parish
On November 30, 2011, the Amador Catholic Community, formerly comprised of three distinct parishes, was unified into one. Most Reverend Jaime Soto, Bishop of Sacramento, proclaimed our new patron saint and named our new parish St. Katharine Drexel Parish. At this historic ceremony, Bishop Soto also installed Rev. Lawrence J. Beck ("Father Larry") as Pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
Six Catholic churches in Amador County made up the former parishes: Immaculate Conception Parish (Immaculate Conception and St. Mary of the Mountains Churches), Sacred Heart Parish (Sacred Heart Church), and St. Patrick Parish (St. Patrick, St. Bernard, and Our Lady of the Pines Churches). All six churches continue to function in different capacities. In addition, St. Katharine Drexel Parish Center houses our offices, meeting spaces, as well as the the main church building.
