Consecration to Mary

On December 8, 2019, parishioners of St. Katharine Drexel Parish completed the 33 Days to Morning Glory do-it-yourself retreat and consecrated themselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, author of 33 Days to Morning Glory, recommends periodically renewing your consecration to Mary. Below is the prayer of consecration you may like to use. The parish prayer of consecration is also included below. If you wish to download and print a PDF copy, click here.

Consecration Prayers to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

33 Days to Morning Glory CONSECRATION PRAYER

I, ____________, a repentant sinner, renew and ratify today in your hands, O Immaculate Mother, the vows of my baptism. I renounce satan, and resolve to follow Jesus Christ even more than before.

Mary, I give you my heart. Please set it on fire with love for Jesus. Make it always attentive to his burning thirst for love and for souls. Keep my heart in your most pure Heart that I may love Jesus and the members of his Body with your own perfect love.

Mary, I entrust myself totally to you: my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions. Please make of me, of all that I am and have, whatever most pleases you. Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for bringing the greatest possible glory to God. If I fall, please lead me back to Jesus.  Wash me in the blood and water that flow from his pierced side, and help me never to lose my trust in this fountain of love and mercy.

With you, O Immaculate Mother - you who always do the will of God - I unite myself to the perfect consecration of Jesus as he offers himself in the Spirit to the Father for the life of the world. Amen.

PRAYER OF PARISH CONSECRATION

O immaculate, Mother of the Church and Queen of Heaven, we join together as a parish family to consecrate ourselves to your Immaculate Heart. We consecrate to you all that we are, all that we have, all that we love, our bodies, our hearts, our souls. To you we consecrate our families, our priests, our religious and all who serve in our parish ministries. We entrust to you the sick and dying, and the souls of the faithful departed of our entire parish. We desire that everyone may come to know you more fully and share in the benefits of your intercession of love. So that our consecration may be truly effective and persevering, and so that it may bear the fruits of a rich interior life, today we renew our consecrations as Christians through the Baptismal promises. We promise to follow with joy and humility the truths of the Catholic Church, always showing fidelity to the teaching of the Holy Father, our Bishop and the Magisterium. We promise to show you faithful devotion, to listen to the word of God and to read it attentively, to obey God's commandments, to participate in the feast of the Church, to seek the strength of the sacraments, specially Reconciliation and the Eucharist. We pray that we may always be ready to offer our prayers, sacrifices and sufferings to bring about the triumph of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in our souls and in those of our sisters and brothers, in our parish and the entire world. Amen.
